Us Against The World

We were having a heated conversation off the mic. Midway we decided to hit "Record".

"Us Against The World" returns July 13!!

“All good things must come to an end”.

To wrap up our debut season, Jason and Irvin talk about how Irvin almost killed the show for good and how the podcast came to life (from the name of the show, to the concept, to the cover art). They also reflect and look back on the episodes of Season 1 and “Friend of the show” Uriel shares with us all a song or album that motivated him during his university years.

Thank you to everyone that rocked with us these last 6 months!!! Its been a ride!!

For our last "Interview" episode of our first season, we go out with a bang!

This week we have a very special guest: Belinda de la Libertad, a strong advocate for freedom and justice for all.

Belinda is the president of the "Avanza Network" and is in the Board of Director's for "CIELO Community".

Belinda shares with us how she helps out families who are chasing the so-called "American Dream", the dynamic of each family member, and how important it is for the future of the children. Towards the end, Belinda shares with us a very personal story that we hope can serve as a guide to those who find themselves in the same difficult situation Belinda was when she was a teenager.

This week it's just us!!

Jason and Irvin pick a few songs that have shaped their lives and break down the "Where, When, Why, and How" of those tracks.

Whether it's Irvin's struggle with the "FEAR." of losing it all, to Jason going back to his "Chicano" roots, the guys tell stories that showcase how powerful music is and how it really is the closest thing to a time machine. Some rap, some Indie rock, some Kendrick, it's all here!

What's this?! For a third week in a row, Jason and Irvin deliver a new episode !? Hopefully this doesn't jinx it!

Today we have Adrian de la Riva, a Santa Ana OC native. He’s a fellow UCI Graduate, who majored in criminology and social ecology.

An advocate for the youth, Adrian is currently a youth partner at a "Wraparound" program.

From how it was like growing up in Santa Ana, to what triggered his decision to stop hanging out with the wrong crowd, this episode is a classic tale of a First Generation Latino trying to find a purpose in life amidst a new country one has to now call "home".
