The detour is as follows.  If coming from Corvallis to McMinnville.   Take the Rickreal overpass exit, turn west, go to Perrydale Road, turn Right.  Flaggers are stationed.     If you are coming from McMinnville to Corvallis/Independence, turn right at the Bethel Road intersection with 99w.  Drive safely.

BROKEN GAS LINCE CAUSES MAJOR TRAFFIC BACKUP IN NEWBERGNews Release from Newberg-Dundee Police Dept.On September 9, 2015 11:33 the Newberg 911 center received information that a delivery truck caused damaged to a natural gas line in the alleyway behind a local business, located at 701 E 1st Street. The delivery truck reportedly hit a dumpster which ruptured the line. This area is in the center of the downtown business district. Emergency personnel from the Police and Fire Department arrived and evacuated the immediate area and surrounding businesses. The Newberg public works department, ODOT, Carlton and Sherwood Police responded to assist with traffic control. All foot and vehicle traffic was suspended from the area until a Northwest Natural Gas crew could shut off the gas line. Northwest Natural was on scene within 10 minutes of the call and had the gas turned off by 12:14. After monitoring air quality employees were allowed to return to their businesses. Traffic although heavy from the backups was returned to normal at 12:31pm. During this event there were reports of a few people treated for breathing difficulties. Their status is unknown at the time of this release. FOLLOW-UP ON FATAL CRASH IN RURAL YAMHILL COUNTYNews Release from Yamhill Co. Sheriff's OfficeOn Tuesday, September 8th, at approximately 7:05 p.m. the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a compact sport utility vehicle and two bicyclists. The location of the crash was on North Valley Road near Dopp Road in rural Newberg. This location is directly adjacent to Ewing Young Elementary School. Initial investigation shows that a 2007 Toyota RAV 4 sport utility vehicle was traveling west bound on North Valley Road near Dopp Road. Two bicycles, travelling side by side and also west bound on North Valley Road were struck from behind by the Toyota. The riders were not run over, but were forced onto the vehicle, which carried the riders approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop. Identification of the bicyclists was not immediately available as they were not carrying identification at the time of the crash. They have since been identified by investigators as 44 year old Tara Janel Manitsas and 60 year old David Lee Manitsas. Tara Manitsas was pronounced deceased at the scene and David Manitsas was transported via Life Flight to Oregon Health Science University where he remains in critical condition. Both riders are residents of Newberg. The driver of the SUV had very minor injury and has been cooperating with investigators. She has been identified as Nancy Rae Faunt, 71, of rural Gaston. The case continues to be investigated by the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and the Multi-Agency Traffic Team. At this time there is no indication that impairment is a factor in the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is urged to contact Sgt.
