Dr. Sahar Khamis discussed an important topic " Faith in a Time of Fear: Spirituality and Coping with the Coronavirus Crisis " with three spiritual leaders: Rabbi Julie Gordon, Father William Au, and Imam Tarif Shraim.
Rabbi Julie Gordon is the Rabbi educator at Hill Havurah, the only Synagogue on Capitol Hill. This is her 36th year as a Rabbi having served many congregations and worked in multiple Jewish educational institutions. She is very active in the interfaith movement, especially through her involvement with the Washington DC chapter of the "Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom" (SOSS).
Reverend William A. Au (PhD) is a priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In 1983, he received a Ph.D. in Church History from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He has published a book and several articles on the American Catholic debate on issues of war and peace. He currently serves as pastor of The Shrine of the Sacred Heart Church in the Mt. Washington section of Baltimore.
Imam Tarif Shraim is the Imam of the Islamic Community Center of Potomac In the suburbs of Washington DC and is the Muslim chaplain at the University of Maryland, College Park. Over the past two decades, he provided mentorship, pastoral care and coaching to Muslim college students and community members throughout Baltimore-Washington area. He frequently lectures on theology, spirituality, and positive psychology. He is the co-founder and executive director of the Center for Muslim Life at Maryland (cmlmd.org).
