This episode highlights some of the challenges that activists in Kenya go through while educating their communities in Kenya about the effects of Female Genital Mutilation. However there are solutions that need to be implemented to accelerate the end of FGM. Research from UNICEF shows that 1 out of 5 girls has undergone FGM. The Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 2014, indicates that the practice is still high among the Samburu Community at 86% and among the Maasai at 78%. World Vision Kenya/ACCAF/UNCEF/UNFPA indicates that West Pokot County is at 74%, and among the Gusii community 84%, Garissa 80%.
