In this episode of the Plants, Flowers, Oils and Whimsy podcast, we'll talk about the significant role of zinc oxide in skincare how to use it in homemade skincare products. I'll also shares two of her own creative DIY skincare recipes - the Sunny Day Moisturizer and the Whipped Zinc Oxide Cream. Recipes: Sunny Day Moisturizer Ingredients: ½ cup Almond Oil ½ cup Coconut Oil ¼ cup beeswax 4 tbsp zinc oxide up to 1 tsp raspberry seed oil, carrot seed oil and vitamin E 2 tbsp Shea Butter essential oils of your choice Directions: melt ingredients in a double boiler. Add essential oils at the end. Pour into your favorite container. Whipped Zinc Oxide Cream You can use this as a moisturizer, deodorant, or diaper rash cream. Ingredients: ¼ cup coconut oil ½ cup Shea butter 1 tbsp non-nano zinc oxide 1 tbsp and 1 tsp Clay 75 drops essential oils Directions: Mix ingredients in a large bowl and blend with a handheld mixer until mixed and creamy. Put in the desired container.
