The fastest known way to fix that is going to Minnie's room during the Murray cutscene. You'll have to be careful with the timing, though. First, use the lantern with Murray. Then, press Esc once, move the cursor to the right, wait for a couple of frames, and press Enter to go to Minnie's. Now press Esc again and you'll automatically go back to the room with the crack.
