Tonya Mayo shares how she had to use her voice during her college experience in moving back home with her parents as well as advocating and bringing awareness to the issues and problems that are happening in the African American community. . She talks about how she navigates these neccessary conversations with young people to help them understand the things that are happening around racism and police brutality.
Tonya started a organization called Kids ACT- Kids Are Creative Thinkers where children can creatively express themselves through various projects and activities. She is currently a teacher. She recently graduated from the University of the Arts with a Bachelors in Vocal Performance and Masters degree in Teaching!
