In this conversation I’m talking with Arezu Sarvestani of the University of California, San Francisco about a topic that I think is going to hit home for any of you communications folks who work directly or indirectly with university faculty. And that is: figuring out thoughtful, creative and compelling ways to translate the value of faculty research, which can sometimes require a bit of very specific domain knowledge to understand… translating that into a form that can be appreciated by a wider audience. So we’re going to talk about storytelling, social media, using digital video, and so much more.

Arezu is the social media manager for the University of California, San Francisco, where she oversees social content, strategy, training and consultation. She has a background in science journalism and a passion for multimedia and spent nearly four years covering medical technology and medical device hacking. When she’s not roaming the wild forests of the internet, she’s a hackathon organizer, writer and public speaker.
