If we look beyond the pizza boxes, the email
reminders and the bulletin boards peppered with promotional flyers,
events on university campuses take on a much richer meaning in the
lives of our students. During their formative years, when students
are simultaneously seeking the challenge of adventure and calm of
comfort, the thrill of taking risks and the fulfillment of finding
a place to belong, events create vital environments for building
friendships and strengthening community.
Today I’m talking with Brad Thompson Assistant
Director of Student Activities at Texas Christian University. Brad
cares deeply about his work, and focuses his time on positively
impacting the campus culture as well as mentoring and developing
TCU’s next generation of student leaders. He conceptualizes and
organizes events ranging from weekly brown bag lunches for 20
people, to campus-wide headliner special events with thousands in
attendance. We talk purpose-driven work, event analytics, email
marketing and so much more… Please enjoy my conversation with Brad
