Jen Foley, Wellness Department Head for the Dan McKinney Family YMCA, and Laura Harr, a YMCA member and ovarian cancer survivor, talk about the YMCA’s partnership with LIVESTRONG, an organization that provides support for adults affected by cancer. Harr talks about her LIVESTRONG experience at the YMCA, which is free and helps cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following their cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Gordon Summer, Producer of the US Sand Sculpting Challenge & Dimensional Art Exposition, talks about his world-recognized event that will be held on San Diego’s downtown waterfront from August 31 through September 3. The event will feature 12 World Master Sand Sculpters from the United States and six from other countries. New features at the Challenge include expanding the hours to night in order to light up the sculptures.

Jodi Cilley, Founder and President of the Film Consortium San Diego, chats about the annual GI Film Festival that will run from September 25 through September 30. Suzy Colby, Vice President of SAY San Diego, joins Cilley to discuss her organization’s continued involvement with the Festival to support activities and services for military youth. Cilley and Colby talk about the Festival’s kickoff event. “Family Movie Night,” that will be held on Friday, August 24 on the USS Midway Museum.
