AFC Bournemouth beat Burnley 2-1 at Dean Court in a game which had so much riding on it for both clubs and Andoni Iraola can breathe a sigh of relief after getting his first league win for the club.
The fans are delighted but that optimism and excitement needs to be managed as there is so much to do this season with a visit to Manchester City at the Etihad coming up.
Semenyo scored a fantastic equaliser and Philip Billing scored an excellent goal which put the Cherries ahead but if it was not for a Radu save and a close VAR call (7 Minutes! Come on!) it could have been a whole lot different.
Andoni is still under pressure after this victory but with games against City and Newcastle coming up, is it really fair to judge him on these two games? Not really.
After that is another must win though against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, a game which if lost, could see the axe fall still.
Don't get me wrong, this was better and some very good performances but Burnley are not the pinnacle of Premier League quality. Far from it. So caution needs to be exercised.
Let us know what you think. Do you think Andoni is the best thing since sliced bread or does he remain in trouble?
