Together, we’ll reflect on how nurturing compassion for our own bodies, minds, and spirits can ripple outward—challenging injustice, dismantling harmful narratives, and creating space for collective healing. Self-love is not vanity or escape—it’s resistance, resilience, and a sacred commitment to our shared humanity.

The most important part of our religious education curriculum for children, youth, and adults is our church community, our congregation, our church building, and everyone in it or connected to it in person or virtually.  Who we are is what we teach.  How we respond to and support one another, and how we embody our principles, sources, and values, communicates our curriculum to learners of all ages.

Affirming the inherent dignity and worth of every person is the 1st principle of UUism, but how do we live that principle?  What does it mean to really affirm another person’s humanity and inherent dignity?  How do we act like we truly see everyone as inherently worthy?  Understanding how the mutual struggle for our rights and autonomy and the need to learn how to trust each other is central to answering these questions.

When we hear the title of Mystic, we tend to think of gurus, solitary monks or enlightened spiritual leaders, but a mystic is simply someone who is seeking to find the sacred in ordinary life events.  Using Mirabai Starr’s teachings, let’s look at the things we are already doing and ways we can simply increase our awareness of the sacred in our mundane everyday lives.

Without dogma, we may seem spiritually untethered.  But our freedom to believe compels us daily to seek deeper meaning for ourselves and our community.  Join us as we explore becoming more than what we don’t choose to believe.  And come meet Delores Doctrinaire.

Mother's Day can be a complicated holiday, and mean many different things for each one of us.  In fact, every individual likely has numerous experiences and vantage points of mothering in their lives.  However, one thing is true: we all have mothers in our bones.  On this Mother's Day, we will explore the different aspects of mothering, for the word "mother" is both a noun and a verb.  And, we will take a moment to honor the Great Mother archetype that exists within each one of us, and is often connected to Earth which sustains us all.
