According to the Transgender Law Center, “First established in 2009, TransParent Day is celebrated every year on the first Sunday in November as a day to celebrate life and the love between transgender parents and their children and transgender children and their parents.”

(A note about the audio--since there were technical issues with the livestreaming sound, we join our Harvest Moon Auctioneers mid-skit at the beginning of the service.)

This week's service notes that many indigenous communities have memory keepers, storytellers, servants of memory whose purpose is to remember. How is this different than the role of the historian? What is the deeper purpose of these servants of memory? Who are our memory keepers?

The nine-day Hindu holiday of Navaratri takes place between Oct 7 – 15 and celebrates the goddess Durga. The sermon examines the meaning of this celebration and its place within the larger context of Hindu Shaktism. You'll also hear a Story for All Ages, and the usual news and announcements.

This question gets asked a lot, by newcomers and long-time UUs alike! As UUs, we encourage each other’s spiritual development as we search for truth and meaning. Our lay leader this week, Amanda Bralley, and several of our members share what being UU means to them.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement begins at sundown on Wednesday. It is the holiest day of the year in Judaism; a day when atonement is sought for wrongs committed. How do you seek forgiveness? To what extent are you willing to go to get it? To give it?

This week you'll hear Ayanna explain why religious education still matters even though the world is clearly falling to bits (it matters so much we're cranking up the fall Sunday School year starting NEXT SUNDAY). Then around the seventeen minute mark, barks! And Reverend Dave's blessings.
