What is the necklace all the Catholics seem to carry around? They don't even wear it!

We are leading off this season with prayer and the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There are few prayers outside of the Mass, more powerful than the Rosary. Given to us by our Blessed Mother herself as a weapon for the spiritual battles we all have to face, the Rosary can be confounding and intimidating for new Catholics.
