The Song of the Cicada opens this first episode of our 10th season because it helped me recover my voice to return with renewed conviction.
Singing, under the sun,
like the cicada, after hiding for over a year,
under the soil.
Just as a survivor
who returns from the war.
After one month of study and travel, I am back. I experienced an academic disappointment and nature, as always, redeemed my soul, the spiritual presence of Trees at a Quaker Retreat house in Philadelphia, called Pendle Hill.
I was silenced, interrupted, yet now I return with the complete message from Trees; with the stories of those eyes framed by greenery that have always guided my life; those I recognized in a life-changing encounter in the Amazon, 35 years ago, and those new ones that persist on inspiring me, now infused with color in Victoria Amazonica's new logo, signposts of Hope and Love.
