This episode was recorded to help entrepreneurs understand how their mindset affects their ability to close sales, especially big-ticket sales.  Often times salespeople fail to close sales because they are afraid to ask for dollar amounts that are higher than they normally spend their self. Salespeople must understand some people have more disposable income than others and they are willing to spend more money on valuable products and services. Half of the battle is won by adopting a salesperson mindset rather than having a consumer mindset. Salespeople follow a specific sales process that guides them to enable them to close sales when the product or service is right for the potential customer; whereas, consumers focus on the cost relative to the benefits of the product or service. In simple terms, many people don't close sales because they are too afraid to lay all the facts out for the customer so they can decide if the benefits are worth the costs. Therefore, this podcast episode aims to teach entrepreneurs how to think like a salesperson instead of being in consumer mode.

Percy Robert Miller (born April 29, 1967), also known by his stage name Master P, is an American rapper, actor, record producer, philanthropist, and former basketball player. He is the founder of the record label No Limit Records, which was relaunched as New No Limit Records through Universal Records and Koch Records, then again as Guttar Music Entertainment, and currently, No Limit Forever Records. He is the founder and CEO of P. Miller Enterprises and Better Black Television, which was a short-lived online television network.

Miller initially gained fame in the mid-1990s with the success of his hip hop music group TRU as well as his fifth solo rap album Ice Cream Man, which contained his first single "Mr. Ice Cream Man". Miller gained further popularity in 1997 after the success of his platinum single "Make 'Em Say Uhh!". In total, Miller has gone on to release 15 studio albums.

Aside from music, Miller has embarked on a career in acting, starring in films, including I Got the Hook-Up, Soccer Mom, Gone in 60 Seconds, Toxic, and Foolish. Miller has worked in television, starring in the sitcom Romeo! alongside his son Romeo Miller from 2003 to 2006.

Miller was signed to two separate NBA contracts in the late 1990s, playing for both the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors during the 1998 and 1999 pre-season respectively. Miller owns his own basketball league, Global Mixed Gender Basketball (GMGB).

To be desperate means feeling, showing, or involving a hopeless sense that a situation is so bad as to be impossible to deal with. Why desperation is bad for you You give the other person leverage They do not care why you are desperate You cannot say no Your self-worth goes temporarily goes away  You try to form one-way partnerships You do not provide the same value  You flock toward what is attractive at the time How to fight desperation: Take a few mins to think before you make another decision Focus on the positive Celebrate every small win no matter how small it is After the desperation stage is over:  Analyze how and why you got to the point of desperation Work on fixing the bad habits that caused your downfall Continue the positive actions that helped you overcome the situation
