16.12.2018 Short walk around Tsesarevich Embankment and Promenade.
Tsesarevich Promenade
Today the team of Vladivostok English News (Arthur O. Nwabufo and Ekaterina Gritsenko) join the Tsesarevich Seafront and Promenade in Vladivostok.
The Tsesarevich Embankment, located not far from the center, between the bridge across the Golden Horn Bay and Dalzavod, is the youngest embankment of Vladivostok. It opened in the fall of 2012 and immediately became one of the most popular places for walks and recreation of residents and guests of the seaside capital. This picturesque walking zone got its name in honor of the Russian emperor Nicholas II, who in May 1891, while still a crown prince, visited Vladivostok.
The visit of the future monarch was planned in the framework of his round-the-world voyage, the sea part of which ended in Vladivostok. The crown prince was scheduled to appear in the city in June, however, due to the assassination attempt in Japan, he arrived almost a month earlier. Nevertheless, he managed to take part in all the events planned for his arrival, including the laying of a dry dock on the territory of the mechanical workshops, which later became the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Repair Center, which is today one of the oldest enterprises in the city.
Part of the territory of the plant in the future and became the Tsesarevich Embankment. It represents a single architectural ensemble, harmoniously inscribed in the historical environment of the Vladivostok center. There is a spacious walking area, which is suitable not only for leisurely walks, but also for cycling, rollerblading and skateboarding. Right in the center of the embankment is a large playground, made in the form of a ship, with numerous slides, rope ladders and swings.
The Tsesarevich Embankment is interesting for several original architectural objects. Here is a giant chessboard, a species platform "Bridge of Love", where lovers hang locks as a sign of their feelings, and the so-called Reconciliation Bed. The latter is a metal frame with carved flourishes, on which lies a wooden bed, made in the form of two inclined planes converging to the center with the phrase “I love you” engraved on them in thirty languages of the world. According to the authors, thanks to this design, quarreling lovers, crouching on the bed, will inevitably slide into the arms of each other. Next to the bed is a floor lamp, which illuminates it in the dark.
The embankment is also decorated with a complex of reservoirs with dynamic fountains. There are also various shops, cafes and restaurants where you can eat, as well as entertainment centers. For those who come to the embankment on their own cars, there is ample parking. From the Tsesarevich Embankment there are breathtaking views of the new bridge, the sea and the ships moored in the Golden Horn Bay. How to get there. On any public transport route which passes through Svetlanskaya Street.
Go to the stop "Lazo".
