Genesis 37:1-50:26
What does this have to do with me?
1. Joseph’s story is yours.
2. If we reject God’s sovereignty over the sinful acts of men, we reject God’s work of salvation in Jesus.
Acts 4:27–28
“For indeed both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together in this city against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, to do as much as your power and your plan had decided beforehand would happen.
3. Salvation was being accomplished through the evil of sinful men as they killed the Son of God.
(Isaiah 53:10)
“Though the Lord desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the Lord’s purpose will be accomplished through him. ”
4. There is no gospel, there is no salvation if God cannot, in perfect holiness, govern the acts of sinful men in bringing his Son to the cross.
