He had one of the toughest jobs in hockey, the enforcer. Val James joins the show to speak about his unlikely run as a professional player in the NHL and AHL. Val shares some personal stores of how tough it was to play hockey in the 70's and 80's as one of the very few black athletes and also the racial issues that led him to stay away from the game for over a decade until he had the courage to write his story in the book entitled Black Ice: The Val James Story.  Before Val,  Akil Thomas is now in Germany so Elijah is left to fill us in on how things are going in Toronto and starting out on his University team Ryerson.
