Pastor Roger adeptly uses this moment to draw an important connection between Old Testament Israel and the New Testament Church. The connection begins with the understanding that there was an important alignment between the 12 Tribes of Israel and the 12 Apostles. In attempting to imagine what those prayers might have been like, Pastor Roger also drew a practical and experiential connection to the fact that they were called to Jerusalem and beyond and we are also called to reach a city God loves. After questioning Jesus' statement to his followers - "It is better for you that I leave" (John 16:7), he goes on to explain that our lives are fulfilled by the power of the Ascension. Pastor Roger then develops three key ways in which the Ascension impacts our lives: The Ascension gives us strength to endure life's trials; The Ascension gives us power to manifest Christ in our city; The Ascension reminds us who is in control of this world. Roger Valci, The "Missing" Mission of Christianity, Pastor Roger begins an extended, expository study in the Book of Acts. This week, he uses Acts 1:1-8 to answer the vital question, "Why are we here as a Church?" Acts is a perfect place to look for this answer because it is the best place in the Bible to find answers to questions about the mission of the Church. Using these passages, Pastor Roger shows that the purpose of Church is to reach a city that God loves. He demonstrates that this is shown through three basic principles: 1) The Kingdom of God is Spiritual; 2) The Kingdom of God is Municipal in nature; and 3) The Kingdom of God is advancing through You. Following these principles, the Church will be known for doing God's work, not for their views on any issue.

Roger Valci, Isaiah Saldivar - Guest Speaker, Isaiah shares a message that God gave him for our church body to hear. God told Isaiah that as individual followers of Christ, we God's people, need to examine how deep our walk really is, and go deeper. Isaiah's message is so powerful you must listen to this one, plus you must also listen to messages that Isaiah will being to us through God in the future.

To begin the new year, Pastor Roger took a break from the traditional "message" to share with the congregation a series of gifts that he believes we will all be unpacking in 2014 as part of the body of the Church. In this message he invites to the pulpit seven leaders to share the plans for their ministry areas, The areas focussed on are: Valley Christians Schools, Family Ministry, the House Church movement, City Serve Community Outreach, Celebrate Recovery and the soon to be realized East Dublin Church Plant. In addition we received updates on current building projects - the school's Science Center and the Worship and Performing Arts Center.

Roger Valci, Three Core Values Behind the Miracle, Pastor David Sell shares a powerful teaching on steps we can take to prepare our lives for God's miracles. Using Biblical references, he shows that there are steps that we can take to activate God's miracles but that they don't come quick or cheap. The first step, demonstrated in 1 Kings 17, is that God's provision comes after obedience.The second step, shown through 2 Chronicles 14, is that miracles will follow an uncompromising devotion to God's commandments. Finally, he showed through Matthew 15, that in order to see the miracle we must be persistent and not give up until we see the miracle.
