  • The Fall of Jericho | Joshua 6

In Joshua 6, Israel watches as God brings down the walls of Jericho. What begins as an unusual story of marching, trumpets, and a city’s destruction becomes a sobering picture of God’s judgment, the seriousness of sin, and the consequences of rejecting God.

But Jericho isn’t only a story of destruction. In the middle of judgment, Rahab and her family are rescued. Her story reminds us that even when destruction is coming, God provides a way of salvation. Ultimately, Jericho points us toward Jesus, the coming judgment, and the hope we have in Him. If we truly believe, our faith should lead us to pursue righteousness and urgently share the good news with others.

  • Out of the Wilderness | Joshua 5

What does it look like to live faithfully between the wilderness behind us and the promised land ahead of us?

In Joshua 5, Israel crosses into the Promised Land and pauses to remember God’s covenant, celebrate His salvation, receive His provision, and acknowledge His authority. These moments point to a reality we still experience today: we are living on the edge of the Promised Land. We have God’s promises, but we haven’t yet seen their final fulfillment.

So how should we live in the meantime?

This message from Joshua 5 challenges us to stop living like we’re still wandering in the wilderness and instead live with our eyes fixed on the promise of what God is bringing.

  • Proper Preparation | Joshua 3&4

Israel stood at the edge of the Jordan River with no way forward—yet God was already preparing to do something miraculous.

In Joshua 3–4, God commands His people to consecrate themselves, follow His presence, and step into the waters before they could see how He would make a way. Their preparation wasn’t about convincing God to act; it was about being ready to participate in what He was already doing.

In this message, we explore what it means to live with that same expectation today. Through the story of the Jordan, the presence of God, and the victory of Jesus over sin and death, we are challenged to pursue holiness, reject lukewarm faith, and prepare ourselves for God to work through us.

The miracle is coming. The question is whether we are prepared to follow when God moves.

  • Foreign Corespondents | Joshua 2

What does genuine faith look like when everything around us begins to crumble? In Joshua 2, we encounter Rahab, a woman in Jericho who recognizes the power of the God of Israel and makes a life-changing decision to place her loyalty in Him. Her faith wasn't merely intellectual belief—it was faith put into action.

Through Rahab's story, we explore the meaning of hesed, the faithfulness and covenant loyalty of God, and how our faith becomes a distinguishing mark in our lives. From the scarlet cord hanging outside Rahab's window to the blood on the doorposts in Egypt, we see a powerful picture of God's salvation and the ultimate hope we have in Jesus Christ.

When our circumstances, institutions, and worldly securities begin to fall apart, where does our loyalty belong? Faith isn't simply something we say; it's something we stake our lives on.

Join us as we learn from Rahab what it means to be strong and courageous, trust in God's faithfulness, and put our faith into action.

  • Carry On | Joshua 1

What do you do when God calls you into something bigger than yourself?

Joshua is stepping into leadership after the death of Moses, and Israel is standing on the edge of the Promised Land. The road ahead won’t be easy. There will be uncertainty, opposition, and battles to fight. But God gives Joshua a clear command: be strong and courageous.

In Joshua 1, we discover four rally cries for the people of God: remember God’s faithfulness, be strong and courageous, meditate on God’s instruction, and push for the collective.

The mission hasn’t changed. We are still called to take ground for the Kingdom of God—not through force or violence, but through the same loyalty and love we see in Jesus. We follow Him, make disciples, carry one another’s burdens, and bring the gospel to the people around us.

  • Call to Covenant | Deuteronomy

Before Israel entered the Promised Land, Moses gave them one final warning: don’t forget God.

As we begin our journey through Joshua, we first look at Deuteronomy and the lessons Moses gave Israel before they entered the Promised Land. Their greatest danger wasn’t the wilderness, the enemies ahead, or the difficulties they would face—it was turning away from God.

We often take the long way when we choose our own path, chase lesser gods, and forget what matters most. But God continually calls His people back to the same starting point: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength.

In this message, we explore what it means to choose God, remain faithful, and finish well—while remembering that our faith isn’t just about us. We are called to pass it on to the next generation.

  • Complete Victory | Romans 8:35-39

What if the Christian life isn’t about avoiding suffering, but learning to endure it with the confidence that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ?

As we conclude our journey through Romans 8, we arrive at Paul’s powerful declaration that, in Christ, we are “more than conquerors.” Affliction, distress, persecution, famine, danger, death—none of these have the final word. God’s love does.

In this message, we explore what it means to be fully convinced that nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God found in Christ Jesus. Suffering doesn’t necessarily mean God has abandoned us; sometimes our scars are evidence of faithfulness in a world at war with God.

But Paul’s message goes even further: the victory Christ gives us should transform the way we live. Because love is the thing—the very purpose behind God’s work of redemption and the defining mark of His people.

We’ll consider what it means to endure trials, trust Christ through suffering, and embody the sacrificial love Jesus commanded His followers to show one another and the world.

Nothing can separate you from His love. You are more than a conqueror. And the love you show today is not in vain.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life… nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38–39

  • Blessed Assurance | Romans 8:31-34

If God is for us, who can be against us?

In Romans 8:31–34, Paul gives us a powerful picture of the assurance we have in Jesus Christ. God did not withhold His own Son for us, Christ has defeated death, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ, and Jesus Himself intercedes for us.

Our assurance isn't an excuse to live however we want. It is a reason to give ourselves completely back to God—to live faithfully in view of His incredible mercy.

God gave up everything for you. Will you give yourself back to Him?

Listen to this week's sermon from Valley Church Clinton as we consider the unstoppable love, grace, and faithfulness of our God.

  • God's Good Purpose | Romans 8:28-30

Romans 8:28 is one of the most beloved promises in Scripture: God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. But what does “good” actually mean? In Romans 8:28–30, Paul points us beyond our circumstances and toward the ultimate goodness God is accomplishing in our lives.

In this sermon, we explore the goodness of God, the certainty of His purposes, and the hope of glorification. God’s good purpose is not merely to make our lives easier or more comfortable—it is to conform us to the image of Christ and bring us ultimately into glory.

Even when we cannot understand what God is doing, we can trust who He is. His purposes are good, His promises are sure, and the work He begins in us will ultimately be completed.

The Spirit Helps Us Pray | Romans 8:26–27

Have you ever struggled to find the right words to pray?

In Romans 8:26–27, we're reminded that even when we are weak, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to pray, we are never alone. The Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, helping us in our weakness and interceding for us according to the perfect will of God.

This message explores the incredible ministry of the Holy Spirit as our Helper, Advocate, and Comforter. Discover how God's Spirit bridges the gap between our limited understanding and God's perfect purposes, giving us confidence to approach the Father with honesty, trust, and hope—even when all we can offer are tears or silent groans.

Whether you're walking through suffering, uncertainty, or simply longing to grow in your prayer life, this sermon offers encouragement that God hears every prayer, knows every burden, and faithfully works all things according to His will.
