We continue our series, Jesus on Developing Leaders, by looking at Mark 3:13-19 together and notice some of the incredible ways that Jesus demonstrated “Leaders Empower Others.”

For several weeks, we’re going to look to the gospel stories and Jesus’ work with his disciples and try to find some ideas from Jesus On Developing Leaders. This week we’ll look at Mark 1:16-20 and the invitation to the first disciples. We’ll look at the invitation and their response and talk about how leaders are “Fully Committed.”

We conclude our series "Finding the Way Forward" by looking at one final guiding principle. In discerning these principles, our Vision Team believes we are called to continue to grow even more intentional in our pursuit of “Diversity” in our body. We want our family to look like the gathering that will one day happen in the presence of God, “…every nation and tribe and people and language…”

In "Generosity", we look at 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 and what it means to be a people known for generosity - as individuals and as a church body.

This week we look at Luke 6:27-38 and Jesus’ teaching about being a “Missional Community.” This is the kind of people we want to continue to be as Valley. We want to love well and help others come to know they are loved by Jesus.

As we continue our series "Finding the Way Forward" we’ll talk about what it means for Valley to pursue the value of “Healthy Community.” How do we continue to be family together in healthy ways? What is the model for this way of living? What is the effect of this way of living?

As a church and as women and men of faith, we are on a journey with and towards Jesus. The journey is long and difficult, but also refreshing and beautiful. In order to be prepared for the journey, Jesus modeled and taught his disciples to develop "Sacred Rhythms" of living so that they could be prepared and equipped for the journey. Most importantly he taught these “rhythms” so that they would journey out of a deep love for Jesus and his ways. We too need to develop these rhythms. "Sacred Rhythms" helps us know what it looks like for us to make personal and church commitments to being a people faithfully resting in the presence of Jesus.

We’ve been talking about guiding principles the Vision Team is discerning for Valley in "Finding the Way Forward". A characteristic many celebrate about Valley is "Authenticity". In this week's sermon we’ll talk about what that means and why it's important for Valley in the days ahead.

As we continue in the series Finding the Way Forward, "Spiritual Transformation" looks at the most significant of the guiding principles our Vision Team is discerning for Valley. We’ll look at Romans 12:1-2 and 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 and discuss our commitment to "Spiritual Transformation".

As Valley looks towards our future we have so much to discern. Our Vision Team has begun a process of intentional discernment that they will be inviting Valley to join. Part of that process has been determining some guideline principles that will help guide us forward. This week we’ll look at Psalm 40 and talk about what it means for our church and each of us to be a people "Discerning God’s Will".
