Tonight, we continue our study of Mary and Martha by examining Mary sitting at Jesus Feet.

Mary wasn't just sitting there at Jesus feet for no reason. She was there with purpose. She wasn't chatting with someone else. She wasn't distracted by other things going on around her. She was sitting there to learn, to show her love, and she was there a long as the Lord would allow her to be.

Are you sitting at The Master's feet tonight? Are you ready to learn? Are you showing Him your love?

Why not take a seat at Jesus feet tonight?

Mary and Martha found themselves hosting their friend Jesus in their home on day. Mary sat herself at Jesus' feet while Martha made herself busy with various acts of service within the home as they hosted the Lord. Martha became frustrated with Mary's lack of help. She was stressed, feeling like she was doing all the work and that Jesus wasn't giving her credit for her service. Jesus explained to her that sometimes, sitting at the feet of the Lord is a better thing than the acts of service.

This principle is applicable still today. Are you placing your service to God above your time at the Lord's feet? It will lead you to be stressed, prideful, and self-centered. If you aren't careful, you will become a Martha, caught up in your service and forgetful of the needful thing; sitting at the Master's feet.

But sitting is not to take the place of service. Instead, sitting with Him should fuel our service to Him.

Have you ever stopped and thought about the world that your children and grandchildren are going to grow up in? It's a scary thought. The world is vastly different today than it was when you were a child, and it will be vastly different when your children and grandchildren become adults. Kids today are looking for recognition, attention, and confirmation.

The book of Judges outlines what happens when we raise a generation that forgets the Lord. They become a generation who are greatly distressed, serving false gods, gladly living in the evils of the world.

So what is The Need for The Next Generation? The bottom line is that they need the Lord!

Tonight we had one of our Teens, Bro. Lake Padgett, preach a special Youth Sunday message titled We Need Revival.

We live in a wicked, wicked world. Abortions by the millions, suicides, school shootings, sins are now celebrated and paraded before the public. We need revival in our homes, in our churches, in our communities. This country needs revival now perhaps more than ever! But how can we ignite the fire of revival?

The Bible tells us that God will heal our lands. But it is a conditional statement. 2 Chronicles tells us that IF we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked way, THEN God will forgive their sins and heal their land.

If we want to see true, genuine revival, we must follow the Biblical plan laid out before us.

When we think of the book of Psalms we usually think about King David and the many soulful and heartfelt psalms that he penned. But this morning we are going to examine a psalm of Asaph, the worship leader.

Though he was a leader in the church, Asaph was facing a season of discouragement. But by the end of the psalm, his heart has turned and he begins rejoicing and praising God. So why the change in tone?

Asaph remembered. He remembered all the times God had come through for him and the things that He had done for him in the past.

Maybe you find yourself downtrodden this morning. Maybe you're discouraged. Have you forgotten? Make a decision in your heart. I will remember...

The full armor of God consists of 6 pieces of equipment. Five of those are defensive pieces while only one is offensive in nature; the sword of the Spirit.

The piercing sword of the Spirit cuts deep to the heart of the believer. It gets down to the private thoughts and feelings of the individual. Just like a real life sword can cause deep damage, the sword of the Spirit can reach deep into the heart of the believer and wound us greatly.

This sermon completes our study the Armor of God. Are you gearing up daily? Are you equipping yourself for a daily battle? If you forget even one of the pieces of the armor, then you leave yourself open to attack from the enemy. Be on guard, and gear up!
