In our teaching today, we explore the distinction between the act of fasting and the lifestyle of fasting. While fasting is a temporary discipline that realigns our hearts to God, the fasted lifestyle is a lifelong surrender—a continual dying to self to live fully for Christ. Drawing from passages like Luke 9:23 and Galatians 2:20, God’s Word emphasizes that believers are called to deny themselves daily, recognizing that their lives are no longer their own but are now lived through faith in Christ.
This calls for a heart posture where Christ is valued above all things. True fulfillment is found not in earthly gains but in knowing and being found in Him (Philippians 3:8). The believer’s great reward is Christ Himself (Genesis 15:1),and living a fasted lifestyle means consistently choosing Him as our ultimate treasure.
