We appreciate your continued patience in posting delays, we will be back on track next week. West Coast work travel meant a delay in editing.
In today’s episode Joann and Kristina welcome content creator and vampire superfan Black Girl Talk Fangs as we recap and react to S2E5 of Interview with the Vampire: Don't be Afraid, Just Start the Tape. We discuss the relationships between the triangle of Armand, Louis and Daniel in 1973 San Francisco and how the things uncovered about the first interview inform the way the three will interact in Dubai going forward.
Our structure remains the same as last season but we’ve enhanced the “standout” segment and have added a new segment that tracks the progress of “Dreamstat” the Lestat projection who Louis carries with him, to Claudia’s consternation. Below are some links to follow on Twitter (you may call it X). Thanks for coming to listen to us each week and welcome to those of you who are new to the series and new to the podcast.
About Black Girl Talk Fangs:
BGTF became an IWTV Superfan after watching the pilot episode in October 2022! She fell completely in love with Jacob and Sam's performances as Louis and Sam, New Orleans production, 1910s/1920s costumes shout out Carol Cutshall, and of course Daniel Hart's beautifully orchestrated musical scores. She was not an Anne Rice fan, and did not discover the show through reading The Vampire Chronicles growing up, but was familiar with the 1994 film with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.
She has always loved shows about vampires since age 11 watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and later "True Blood". Since finding the show, she has read IWTV book, The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, Tale of the Body Thief, and The Vampire Armand, she made a decision to get involved with AMC IWTV fandom after noticing that the show had little to no marketing behind it in 2022. So in November 2022, she created Black Girl Talk Fangs or BGTF on Instagram and other platforms to connect with fellow fans, and have been doing that ever since.
IWTV fans sometimes ask how she came up with the BGTF name and her answer is: "I am a black girl who talks about vampires". BGTF, is a space for her to fangirl over the creative talents in front of the screen and behind it without spamming friends and family in private accounts. Follow BGTF on Instagram (@blackgirltalkfangs) and Discord where she takes deep dives into IWTV Season Two episodes and occasionally host rewatch parties.
