Vampire Videos

[13x3] It's time for another Hammer horror, and after completing the Karnstein trilogy we rewind the clock back to 1963 for Don Sharp's Kiss of the Vampire, which finds a newlywed couple encountering a vampire secret society while on their honeymoon...

And we have a new guest arriving by podcasket to help us bite into this classic, in the shape of film critic Kristin Battestella...

Hosts: Dan Owen & Hugh McStay

Guest: Kristin Battestella

Editor: Hugh McStay

"When the devil attacks a man or woman with this foul disease of the vampire the unfortunate human being can do one of two things. Either he can seek God through the church and pray for absolution or he can persuade himself that his filthy perversion is some kind of new and wonderful experience to be shared by the favoured few. Then he tries to persuade others to join his new cult." --- Professor Zimmer.

[12x10] We finish Season XII with another of our occasional "pseudo vampire" films, with Karyn Kusama's Jennifer's Body. Here, a popular high school girl (Megan Fox) is murdered by a touring rock band and accidentally resurrected as a man-eating succubus demon (vampire?) creature...

Back for more ghoulish delight is editor and podcaster Mary Muñoz...
