# **Pista del IUPC (acceso gratis) **
Hace muchos años era visitante frecuente de esta pista, pero dejé de correr ahí porque todo el suelo estaba en muy mal estado y además me quedaba un poco lejos de casa.
En el mes de febrero de 2024 pasé por la autopista y desde lejos pude ver que la estaban reconstruyendo, así que me acerqué a preguntar si tendría una reinauguración y me dijeron que para el mes de abril.
No puede asistir durante los meses de abril y mayo, pero decidí hacer un esfuerzo por visitarla en el mes de junio. Resultó ser muy buena idea, porque la pista quedó bellísima.
Fui el día jueves y el clima estaba perfecto para correr, pero no pude entrenar porque el acceso a la pista, aunque es gratuito para todo público, es en horario restringido, hasta las 8:30am. Yo había llegado a las 10:30am. Me fui a la casa con todas las ganas de llegar temprano al día siguiente.
Planifiqué todo para salir bien temprano, pero el clima ya no era el mismo. Llovió casi toda la madrugada y siguió lloviendo toda la mañana. Eso me hizo pensar seriamente en la posibilidad de dejarlo para otro día, pero decidí que no me dejaría vencer por una simple lluvia. Después de todo, el mundo sigue girando.
Llovía con intensidad variable por intérvalos de tiempo, pero por suerte no era lluvia tormentosa, solo precipitación. Eso me ayudó bastante porque en Caracas las lluvias con vientos fuertes siempre generan accidentes y trancas en las vías.
Llegué a la pista aprox. a las 8:20am porque el tráfico estaba lento, pero me permitieron hacer uso de las instalaciones. Corrí aprox. 6Km y decidí seguir corriendo y salir del IUPC sin parar. Unos 30min después llegué a la zona de Antímano, donde abordé un bus para llegar a mi casa.
En total corrí una distancia de 12.8Km y espero volver pronto para correr bajo un clima mucho más amigable.

# **IUPC track (free access)**
Many years ago I was a frequent visitor to this track, but I stopped running there because the whole floor was in very bad condition and it was also a little far from home.
In February 2024, I passed the highway and from afar I could see that it was being rebuilt, so I approached and asked if it would have a reopening and they told me that by April.
I couldn't go during the months of April and May, but I decided to make an effort to visit it in June. It turned out to be a very good idea, because the track was beautiful.
I went on thursday and the weather was perfect for running, but I could not run because the access to the track, although it is free for everyone, is only open until 8:30am. I had arrived at 10:30am. I went home with all the desire to go earlier the next day.
I planned everything to go out well early, but the weather was no longer the same. It rained almost the full morning. That made me think about the possibility of leaving it for another day, but I decided that I woudn't let myself be defeated by a simple rain. After all, the world keeps turning.
It rained with varying intensity over time intervals, but fortunately it was not stormy rain, only precipitation. That helped me a lot because in Caracas rains with strong winds always cause accidents and roadblocks.
I arrived at the runway at approx. 8:20am because the traffic was slow, but I was allowed to make use of the facilities. I ran approx. 6Km and decided to continue running and exiting the IUPC without stopping. About 30 minutes later I arrived in the area of Antímano, where I took a bus to get to my home.
In total I ran a distance of 12.8Km and I hope to come back soon to run in a much more friendly weather.
