    Great White Sharks Revisited!
In this week’s Varmints podcast we’ll revisit Great White Sharks! In Paul and Donna’s first episode together we’re going to dive straight down with these finny denizens of the sea and talk about these marvelously terrifying giant fish.
Here’s some stuff we referenced on the show:
One might think it’s difficult to be stupid around Great White Sharks, I mean, they’re huge and full of sharp teeth. Even if they don’t come after you on purpose, an accidental bite could be pretty awful. Right? The young man in this article apparently thought it was worth the risk. Giant whale carcass, several hungry Great White Sharks having Sunday luncheon, what could possibly go wrong?
    Oops.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock and have never heard the theme to Jaws, give it a listen here. It will get you in the mood for amazing Great White Shark facts and fun! Courtesy of YouTube user The Spirit Of Classical Music:
Of course, Jaws isn’t the only place Great Whites have surfaced in the stormy seas of pop culture. One of our favorites on Varmints is the large and loveable Bruce from Finding Nemo. Courtesy of YouTube user Renato Dias:
Remember, fish are friends, not food.
No podcast about Great White Sharks would be complete without mentioning one depressing but super important fact. These beautiful creatures are highly sought after and deeply at risk because of over-fishing by humans. The worst offenders supply the market for shark fin soup. The video we talked about the first time we aired this episode is no longer available on YouTube. Instead please watch Gordon Ramsay’s investigation into shark fin soup.
