For lack of a better way of calling it im calling these the the adventure setup cause with all three you could have a pretty good adventure. While i would say each piece has its ups and downs they don't totally leave you flat while out on the trail or on the ride there. So if rest is a top priority to you on the trail and off then pull up your cush seat (you have no clue how hard it is not to spell that with a K) and dive in while we discus these products from the folk out of Utah KLYMIT.

So apart from being a huge fan of the company name and a big fan of this budget friendly pricing how well does this scope hold up to the competition, let me put it like this i think the competition needs to step up their game to match this bad boy. For the price tag on it you get better glass then some of the high dollar outfits and it comes with the things you have to buy extra with many of the other scope companies so if you are in the market for a great lpvo then look no further than the great folks over at Swamp Fox.

Hey Fam welcome to the new year and the first review of it. while it may be possible that i was perhaps a bit to critical of the Viktos Combanova Softshell Jacket and of the brand in general but let be fair, if a product costs as much as this then i expect nothing less than excellence. Dont for get the ways to get a hold of me down below and support the show if you want to. So listen in as we dive into the ins and outs of this jacket and if its worth the burden on your wallet. Be smart, be safe, be ready.

In this the newest and by far the longest episode of the VGR we tackle pants but not just any cargo pants. No this time we are starting with some top shelf kit. UFPro is by far one of the best gear producing companies out there and their is good reason, when you have elite customers who expect a performing product you have to keep producing over the top gear. So if you are wondering if these pants can keep up with you well tune in and hang out while i dive into them.

When it comes to any industry one that has some exceptionally tough competition has to be the back pack industry, with so many competitors running around especially in the “tactical” pack area. So when it comes to a good back you must focus on the needs you have. Functionality over the coolness factor is a must, because if it looks cool but doesn't fit your needs or causes rubbing or pain issues while using it, then you wont want to use it. With all that being said this time we are taking a look at some packs from DDT. DDT is a small business veteran owned company who has been operation since 2012. The provide a variety of products from packs, plate carriers and gun bags. The first bad we will take a look at is the assassin sling bag, made from 1000D polyester with a polyurethane water resistant coating, lockable #10 zippers and a size of 17 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 9 inches deep. It is capable of carrying a 2 liter hydration bladder and has a stabilization strap and is all around a really great little pack, I have used this pack as a camera pack, laptop bag, tool bag and day trip around a national park pack. As long as you do not put too much weight into this pack and keep it pretty light you should have no real issues, the problems with this pack arrive if you put a good about of weight with it. This is while it can be annoying is not a problem with this pack but a problem with all sling pack and they will always have it as putting weight on to one strap causes pressure on one shoulder and will cause the pack to shift and rub against you. Overall I would recommend this pack for mountain bikers, motorcyclists, and even as a pack for a laptop and a few tools if you are a tech worker. With a retail price of $54.99 on amazon I would say its great deal if you are looking for a good sling bag.
Next selection from DDT is the Anti Venom 24-hour assault pack. Much of this pack is similar to the assassin pack as far as construction, 1000D poly with PVC water-resistant lining, #10 lockable zippers, and capable of carrying a 2 liter hydration bladder. Things this pack has that are a nice addition are the Hook and Loop holster that a wide variety if sidearms. Size is 17 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep when filled out. This pack also has a waist belt and adjustable shoulder straps. This pack is great for a daily use, day hiking, and a range pack, however much past this I cannot recommend, many of the straps have no retaining stitching and will slide thru the buckles and cause some annoyance. Also a recommendation that could have made the bag top notch would have been to use UTX quick-release buckles on the shoulder straps so that you could attach this pack to a chest rig. With cheaper bags coming out using the quick release buckles on the shoulder straps so there is no real reason not to have them. So in short if you are looking for a pack to put with an assaulter kit I would hard pass and say head over to London Bridge Trading, however if you are looking for a pack to throw in your car with some winter survival gear, or just a day pack then this might be right up your alley. So that time of year where the spooks, specters and han solos come out is here once again. Its finally getting chilly and going with just a t-shirt is not the best option so it time to add a layer. Now most folks the first thing they reach for this time of year is their favorite hoodie. With that in mind lets have a chat about the Viper Tactical tactical fleece hoodie. These hoodies are made of acrylic fleece and come in a variety of tacticool colors. Each sleeve has a hook and loop field for all your sweet meme patches, and thumb holes right before the elastic cuffs. I bought 2, one in Green and one in Titanium. So whats good, well they are a perfect lounge around hoodie or hit the range on a slightly chilly day wear. They are a perfect layer component for when it colder, I would recommend putting under a shark skin jacket or a gortex to provide a wind proof layer. Heck might even go great under a combat smock. The thumb holes are great little touch and if you slide you hands in your gloves with your thumbs in the hole it provides a nice seal area to help keep your hands warm. I did that several time and even added hand warmers and helped keep my hands nice and toasty in sub zero temperatures. And for a price man the price on these makes you do a double take cause a hoodie under 60 bucks is unheard of. That's right I said under 60 bucks, with shipping your looking at around 40 bucks for one of these. You can find them on amazon or military 1st websites, however if you order from amazon its coming from military 1st anyway so why not cut out the middle man. Sizing I would say is ok as I as a rule buy Xl hoodies because large is never long enough in the arms for me, but with these in xl it puts the thumb holes at the perfect spot for my thumbs. Torso length is pretty good for conceal carry whether you in waist band or outer waistband carry. So are is there anything bad, not really I would say there are some annoying things like the look and look field is kinda small if you put one flag patch on it covers most of the field. So for the most part if you intend to used it as a layer then I wouldn't worry about putting patches on but if you just want to rock it on its own you might have a tough time trying to decide the patches you want to rock. They next thing that should be of not is that the QA might not be the best as the stitching for the kangaroo pocket on one of the hoodies quickly came undone, while on the other one has had no issues. So I don't know if maybe I got one from a bad batch of the green ones but its only happened to the one.
Overall I would say pick a couple up and rock em at the range or under a jacket when it get a little to cold for you, but as a day to day they tend to stand out, and that's something no Grey person would want, however throwing one of these into a edc pack for a lightweight layer is something worth considering. So if you are in the market for a good fleece layer, or need another hoodie for your significant other to snag, and you don’t have to break the bank. Be Safe Be Smart Be Ready
Coming to you From the high plains hide out, this is the Vedauwoo Gear Review. If you are like me and have a love for the Vietnam jungle boot than I have a treat for you with a modern update to from GORUCK, the MACV-1. These ain’t your grandpa's Jungle boots. While the first generation of the macv-1’s may have fallen a little shot of the goal of being an all around great boot, mainly due to the sole not being great for off road expeditions, they did and still do give a great 6 inch boot for everyday wear and use as a pair of shoes for Grey man principle. While they are down to limited sizes of the gen 1 boots which at the time of this episode are sizes 6.5 and 7, they are also on sale for 49 dollars so if you want them for urban use (which is all I would recommend gen 1’s for) and they have your size you might want to snap them up. Keep in mind that if you want something other than the black leather you will have to pick up the gen 2’s.
So whats so good about them.
Lightweight, coming in at roughly 28 oz for a pair of boots makes you feel like your in a pair of moccasins while giving you a quick light movement that will leave the other boot companies in the dust.
Tough, while many boot company say they are tough and within a year you are buying another pair. My generation 1 boots have been on and off road thru snow, rain, running water, dry sandy trails and hot streets and I expect them to continue to last me a great long while. My generation 2 boots while only being with me a few short months have been thru much of the same minus the snow but with winter quickly approaching we will see how they do. Also keep in mind that GORUCK is one of the few places that can claim to actually be tested by Special Forces and the company is founded by Green Berets.
Breath-ability, one of the most important things for me when it comes to footwear is how well it breaths, my feet run hot and as such boots that cant breath tend to give me sweaty feet which mean any socks I wear have to work twice as hard to wick moisture away. Not so with the macv-1’s as they keep my feet cool throughout the day whether on the trail or in the city. Support, equally important for a boot that gets taken off the beaten track is good support for your foot and your ankles, in this aspect the macv-1’s excel in ways other boots have failed. Already while out on the trail I can point to occasions I thought I was going to roll an ankle or sprain one only to come out on the other side like nothing had happened.
So if you are looking for a duty, rucking, hiking, grey man, urban explorer boot look no further than the GORUCK MACV-1 for a top quality boot that is more multi-roll than most of the military's jets. So lace up we’re oscar mike.
