  • Free Mind: A Lesson In Soft Confidence and Humility

Honestly, I do not speak a lot about humility in this episode, but it makes sense that the word - humility is in there in the title. I was hitting the za with my cousins, and it hit me what the concept of a Free Mind is. Do I have a free mind? I think I'm pretty much still held down by some aspects of my past I can't seem to let go of. One aspect really - I'm afraid letting go of it means forever, and forever is a long, very long time.

What is a free mind? I think the answer is in the word "free" - I've felt free for a while. It's been liberating amidst life, my ambitions, and endeavours. It doesn't make things okay or change them for the "better"; it just makes me look with a smile of zero judgment. It's better than hope, it's more than being alive - nothing less, nothing more.

I hope we live in a Free Mind forever. I hope I live in Free Mind Forever.

  • The News Isn't Good For The Gardens Of Your Heart

Hey beautiful souls, have you ever felt that heavy, dragging sensation after scrolling through the news, or watching another report that just… drains you? I know I have. In this episode, we're going to dive into something truly vital: how the constant stream of bad news we consume can quietly, insidiously, poison the very gardens of our hearts.

It's not just about feeling a bit down; it's about how this relentless negativity can actually warp our perception of reality, inviting in what we might call "bad luck" or, more accurately, just a really toxic emotional state. Our hearts are meant to be vibrant, flourishing spaces, but if we're constantly feeding them fear, despair, and anger from the headlines, what kind of harvest can we truly expect?

This conversation is so important because it’s about acknowledging the profound impact of what we ponder, what we let take root within us. We'll explore why it's not just beneficial, but absolutely crucial to protect and filter the news we allow into our sacred inner space. It's about conscious consumption, about choosing peace over panic, and about nurturing the kind of inner world that truly allows us to thrive.

Join me as we unpack this, and let's find ways to shield our tender hearts from the onslaught, ensuring our inner gardens remain fertile ground for joy, hope, and genuine well-being. Your peace is paramount, and it's time we treated it as such.

  • There Are Too Many Angels In The Room

In this raw and reflective episode, join me as I delve into the sudden and startling reality of an ordinary morning gone awry. What began as a routine bike ride took a dramatic turn when I, in a moment of unexpected vulnerability, experienced a fall that left me with a bruised left shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle, and even my big toe.

But beyond the immediate physical impact, this incident sparked a profound realization. With a white truck narrowly missing me, the near-miss served as a stark reminder of life's fragility and unpredictability. I unpack the chilling thought: "It could have been a different story."

This isn't just about an accident; it's a deeply personal meditation on the precariousness of existence. Through my own experience, I explore the universal truth that "nobody knows when it'll be over." I recount the jarring shift from a peaceful 9 AM to a moment of chaos and introspection, urging you to embrace the present with a newfound appreciation. Tune in for a powerful and honest conversation about living fully in the "Live Now."

  • Men's Mental Health: Self-Expression and The Need For Validation

This Men's Mental Health Month, we're diving deep into a silent struggle many men face: the suppression of self-expression. Far too often, we're taught to bottle up our true feelings and desires, seeking external validation above all else. But this constant need for approval comes at a devastating cost, slowly eroding the very spring of our well-being—our soul.

In this powerful episode, we explore how this suppression leads to a profound deterioration of mental health, pushing countless men towards depression and even suicidal thoughts. I share my own raw, personal journey through months of debilitating depression and the terrifying point where suicidal ideation became a reality.

This isn't just my story; it's a call to action. I firmly believe the only validation truly required for authentic self-expression comes from within you. There's no external approval that can ever rival the unparalleled freedom and self-acceptance that blossoms when you embrace your true self.

You'll also hear a poignant story about a friend who recently lost his father. After a profound conversation we shared about the brewing storm in a man's soul and the cherished means of expression—like art and passion—he found inspiration in this very episode.

Join us as we challenge the norms, encourage vulnerability, and champion the radical act of expressing your authentic self. It's time to reclaim the vital connection to your soul and forge a path towards genuine mental well-being.

  • It Doesn't Get Easier, It Gets Better

I'm listening to a song by Sunday Service Choir, it's Greater Than. You should check it out. I realized that it doesn't get easier, it gets better. Honestly, I don't know what all this painful sharpening is for. Does it have to be this sore? I used to find consolation in the idea that it'll be easier, but I don't think it does. One of the realest things someone told me was "it gets better", that makes more sense than a fantasical "it will be easy one day", it won't! It'll always match up to the new level of growth, and I have to rise to the occasion. Well, what happened this morning makes me understand the urgency of the situation, and I will respond accordingly. This is an episode for that.

  • Feel Seen, Secure.

I found connecting to be the real reason why I do anything I do. I make music because I have something to share with the listener, I make a podcast to talk about something to your ear without being physically present, I design company brand identity because I want to connect with a customer through a different facade. I want to feel heard, seen, and secure. I do not want to feel iced out, quarantined, or different - I want to feel seen, heard, and known. I want to do that to people through focus and attention in every interaction.

This episode is for if you feel like connection and happiness are the primary desires of life.
