Scripture Text: Hebrews 10:1-18

While we might try to earn God’s approval, this passage shows us that if we look inward, we will find condemnation. Therefore, we must look to Christ and find God’s demands fulfilled. Jesus’s one sacrifice satisfies God on our behalf and it impels us to follow Him!

God demands willful obedience.

1. Look to yourself and find condemnation (vv. 1-4).

Scripture Text: Hebrews 9:15-28

Because Jesus gives us a purified conscience and gospel-motivated obedience, Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant. The old covenant Law can’t touch us. Jesus, by his blood writes over us “Forgiven,” but he also says, “Just wait for all that’s in store for you. I’m coming again!” As the mediator, he fulfills God’s covenant promises of bringing us to God and God to us. And he also guarantees greater union in the future!

Jesus gives us absolute security and complete cleansing.

1. Jesus’ death supersedes the old covenant sacrifices.

Scripture Text: Hebrews 9:1-14

If you have trusted Jesus for salvation, your conscience is pure and your living is God-glorifying. Your obedience will be guaranteed. Why? Because Jesus is your High Priest Who is in the presence of the God. Jesus is worthy to be followed because He grants us conscience cleansing and God-glorifying obedience through His sacrifice.

Through His blood, Jesus purifies people’s consciences and sets them free to obey!

We’ve been given a better hope: a superior priest who is indestructible. Therefore, our hope is indestructible. No matter what people may take from us. No matter what pain we endure – immovable our hope remains! Our indestructible Savior has given us an indestructible salvation that grants us eternal love, care and nearness with God. Do you trust him?

Jesus has provided a better hope than the Levitical priesthood.
