In this new series "Wilderness Men" we dive into the life of a wilderness man of the Bible each week to learn the lessons from their experiences. This week learn from Esau and how if we are not careful our appetites will define our legacy.
We often ask the question "Why?" It's common enough that we can get in a loophole of trying to answer this question for many things in life and Christianity is definitely one of them. This week we dive into some questions that can get us stuck and give the truthful answers that Jesus gives us.
Often times we get stuck in our circumstances. Something happened to you or you happen to something and you get stuck in the wake. Throughout the Bible, we see truths that stick out on this subject and this week we read about one in particular of Jesus healing a man who was physically stuck.
Each week in this series we will walk through a story of someone that is stuck in their circumstances and see how Jesus pulls them out of their situation. These stories are life bringing in the truth that is found when we encounter Jesus and the life He has for us.
Have you ever felt stuck? Whether in a relationship, in school, in your job, or whatever else there's times where we just hit the end of the day and just feel... stuck. Throughout Jesus' ministry we have stories like ours of people who are stuck in a situation and Jesus does what he always does. He meets them where they are at, loves them without borders, and paves the way out. If you feel stuck or need encouragement in your spiritual journey, this week is for you.
Can you think back to a day when everything seemed like it was falling out of place? It just ended up being one pitiful day. Jesus can relate to us in our bad days because He too had bad days. This week we dive into why Hope is rising and the hope that Jesus brings because of the outcome of this foretold very bad day.
As we are following the life of Jesus leading up to his foretold death and ressurection by His own power, we find ourselves this week diving into a party that Jesus is a part of. There is a moment within this party that shows the graceful character of Jesus and also the way our hearts should look like in devotion with Him.
In this new series "Hope Is Rising" we are following the life of Jesus and looking at specific moments leading up to His death and ressurection. We start with a very unique moment where Jesus rides into town on a donkey of all things; but there is also a spiritual significance that confirms even further that Jesus is truly the Messiah because of this donkey.
This week we have a guest speaker, Dave McCants, from Two Rivers Church in New Bern, NC. He has been the pastor of that Church from the start and has wisdom to share from his experiences and the growth they have seen in their church. This is directly following the ordaining of our first elders and this sermon is a great cap to the series Chain Reaction.
Today marks a very special moment in the history of Venture Church. In the New Testament there are several passages of scripture that elaborate on what the leadership of the Church should look like. Elders are a part of that process. It takes time and commitment to take on the role of being an elder of a church. So, as a church we have been praying for men to rise up and take this role on and four have accepted the calling. This is the recording of their ordination.
