  • Day 3: Guided Reflection
Use the time in this video to reflect on God's promises while reviewing this week's sermon text (Luke 1:5-25; 57-80), Jared Sylvester's Story, and Emily Billings's story.
What are expectations that you have for your life? Have you attached conditions of God to your future?
Are there ways life hasn’t turned out as you thought it would?
We see in the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth that they were surprised by a pregnancy later in their life (so much so that Zechariah didn’t believe an angel!). Jared was surprised early in his life with a difficult diagnosis. Talk with a friend about the joyous or difficult surprises you’ve had in your life. How have you responded to them?
Think about your future. The Bible tells us that we don’t know what tomorrow will bring (Prov. 27:1, James 4:14). Take a moment to imagine your response to a life-changing surprise (whether good or bad).
Pause and pray to God, consecrating your future to him. Declare to him you choose to trust him in both the joyous and difficult times ahead.
