I had a great time talking with Malaika. We share a lot of the same points of view when it comes to training dogs. I felt like I wanted to agree with everything she had to say. I think I could have talked with her for hours, hopefully someday our paths will cross. If you are in Nevada and you need some help with your dog, look her up, it will be worth it!

There is nothing like seeing the orange signs that say "Road Construction Ahead". This tends to put a damper on our travel plans. And then you see the person with the "Stop/Slow" sign and you realize you might be slowing down to a stop. But you may be surprised to hear how this helps you deal with your dog.

Mike admits that he was a "troubled youth" which led him into working at a kennel which led him into Ring Work for the breeder. As he grew older he ended up in the army and was asked to work with the military dogs which was a very interesting conversation. Mike seems as cool as a cucumber and I'm sure the dogs he works with can sense it as well!

Hey Podcasters - It's been a heck of a week this week with the Pet Food Drive. You won't believe what we have accumulated so far. The outpouring of support has been TREMENDOUS!

Plus listen to how one of my private lessons went this week.

Look at how many warning signs a dog will give to avoid a conflict. Eye contact, growl, head low, show teeth, lunge, air snap, and then maybe a bite. These are a lot of signs that will happen before a dog jumps into a conflict because to me they don't want to be a part of it.

This pet food drive has taken on a personality of it's own already. We are receiving donations daily and I can't wait to see how much food we actually will receive!
