Summer 2023 in Vermont can be remembered by one word: wet. That said, no one expected VT to receiveas much rain as it did in early July in such a short time frame. 3-9 inches of rain came down within a 48 hour period on July 10 and 11 causing catastrophic flooding including washouts and landslides along many major roadways and corridors connecting Vermont communities.
Host Prescott Nadeau interviews American Red Cross Disaster Program Managers Michaela Olin and Lyndsey Morin on their harrowing account of the summer 2023 flood in Vermont. They highlight everything from preparedness and how the Red Cross helps in both prevention and response as well as the true resiliency of Vermont as a State.
