On this episode Mike and Izzy welcome a friend, veteran, and founder & creator of J&T BBQ sauces, Achilles Murray. Tune in as Achilles talks to us about his transition from retiring from the Marines to the civilian workforce and where he had an epiphany of developing his J&T’s BBQ sauces. From the stages of experimenting with sauces that he picked up from the commissary, to selling these sauces from the back of a U-Haul truck and now into various stores. A lot of the J&T’s BBQ sauces get rooted in the farmers markets and Achilles continues to show his love for the farmers markets even though his sauces are selling online and in stores. J&T’s BBQ sauces is a family business to where even his kids have helped in the distribution aspect of the business, to where Achilles named the J&T using his kids initials (The & is actually the letter E). Never once did he let his ego get the best of him as his sauces began to get recognized. Achilles sauces ranked in the top ten of BBQ sauces and he is very confident that his sauces are the best.
