Veteran On the Move episodes

  • Franco Hauling LLC with July Franco
In this episode of Veteran On the Move, Joe is joined by Marine Veteran and co-founder of Frano Hauling LLC, July Franco. July joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and transitioned to the Reserves serving for a total of 16 years. Her service ended with a severe injury and July struggled with the loss of identity and purpose that came with being a Marine. While working for the federal government, she felt something was missing and was ready for a challenge so with her brother, July founded Franco Hauling LLC. Joe and July discuss the various certifications, such as Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, and the impact they can have for entrepreneurs.

    About Our Guest

July Franco started to follow her purpose and journey at the young age of 17. At that age, she asked her parents to sign and give her approval to join the United States Marine Corps. Throughout her Marine Corp career, she pushed past the obstacles and rose to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. After her military career came to an end, she continued to seek a purpose and with her brother she founded and started Franco Hauling LLC, a construction dump truck service provider in the Chicagoland area. July has made it her personal purpose to inspire and motivate others that being different is what empowers you. At 51 and 110 pounds she dared to overcome obstacles others fear. She had the audacity to start a construction dump truck business despite not looking like anyone in the room and has taken her seat at the table. Today, July, feels she has just begun to scratch the surface of what she looks forward to accomplishing. She strongly believes we are in a nation where dreams do come true if you believe, have faith, and put in the effort.

  • Wake Up with MilSpouse Patti Katter
In this episode Joe is joined by podcaster and advocate for Military Families, Patti Katter. Patti the host of “Wake Up With Patti Katter” and shares how she became committed to serving the military community following her family’s own experiences. Patti’s husband, a Marine Veteran, re-entered the service following 9/11 and joined the Army. He was wounded while deployed to Iraq in an IED attack and remained on deployment following his injury. Once he returned home, Patti quickly noticed something was wrong. He was diagnosed with a TBI and was medically retired three years later. Patti ensured that her husband received the treatment he needed and recognized that need for advocacy for wounded warriors. Patti continues her mission today with a reach now beyond the military community. Learn more about Patti here.
