What's Up, Playa?
This week, Emmett Watkins Jr and Allan Muir have returned, this time, with their first impressions of next-generation hardware and features! All has got his hands on both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, while Emmett has been playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and some of the new titles added to Xbox Game Pass through EA Play. It's a big topic, and it's a big show because of it!
But before we get to talking about the next generation, we start the show with the non-next-gen games we've been playing, including Emmett's time with Sniper Elite 4 through Google Stadia and Hades and Al's time with Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War.

WHAT!? What are we doing on our off week?! Well…recording a special podcast, that’s what. Allan had the itch to discuss the looming DC Omniverse concept that we should be seeing in the next few months, so we recorded something about it. Check it out!

What's Up, Playa?
This week, despite technical difficulties, is a special week. Not only is the next generation upon us, but this marks a full year since VGU.TV relaunched in its current form. To celebrate, we not only have Emmett Watkins Jr and Allan Muir on as always but are also joined by Josh Miller and Graydon Webb. That's right, the entire VGU.TV cast is here, and it's a wonderful episode! In the special segment, we look back and reminisce on our favorite moments from the last year and pat each other's backs profusely.
And after that, we play a special game! Since a big inspiration for many of us is the work that Kinda Funny does, Emmett decided to bring over their "Messy Mash-Up" game that Blessing Jr does for this special episode. It ended up being right down to the wire, so hopefully, you guys have as much fun listening to it as we had recording it!

We all know the origins of Batman. However, in 1987, writer Frank Miller breathed life into a floundering Batman comic with the help of artist David Mazzucchelli. They did it by reinventing not only the Batman origin but also the Commissioner Gordon origin. What may be considered one of the greatest origin stories in comics, we discuss Batman: Year One with special guest, Graydon Webb!
Before he had America’s rump or we all muttered to each other “Hail Hydra”; Captain America was almost lost to history. That is until Stan Lee and Jack Kirby brought him back during the Silver Age.
We can think of many teams out there in the superhero world. The Justice League. The Avengers. The Legion of Superheroes.
Those who listen to this episode will either ascend to feel the glow of G-Phoria 2003. Or will go deep into the depths of madness.
In 1994, there was a collision of worlds. One was DC. One was Milestone.
