Dream

In my dream, you are here.

The one I been waiting for.

The one that gives me warmth and happiness.

The one that will love me and care for me.

In my dream, you held my hand tight.

Telling me that you’re here with me.

The warmth of your palm makes me feel protected and love.

The warmth of your palm gives me hope.

The hope that one day I’ll find you.

In my dream, you smile.

The smile of a thousand stars.

Your smile was bright, like a beautiful flower in the morning sun.

Your smile brings me joy and happiness.

The joy and happiness I haven’t known.

In my dream, you were everything.

Everything that I wanted,

Your touches, your kisses, your hugs.

They are everything to me.

Your touches were gentle and loving,

Your kisses were an explosion of passion and love,

Your hugs were the embrace of care and protection.

In my dream, I told you I miss you.

But now I realize what I meant by it.

I miss you in my life,

You were the missing piece that I need.

The only one that truly matters.

In my dream, I woke up.

I woke up without you,

But I know I’ll find you one day.

Not in my dream, but in my life.

This is a poem I wrote about how I want to experience love and how much it mean to me. I wrote this for my English final but I hope that you enjoy it!

Poem:

Love

Love is something I haven’t known.

Love is a mystery to me.

It’s something I think of every day.

Love is like a flower in me,

Waiting for the right time and the right person to bloom for.

Love is something I want to devote myself to,

Something I would lavish to have.

Love isn’t minuscule it is immense.

I want to experience the power of perpetual love.

The power that will make me feel loved for the rest of my life.

One day I will find the zest of love,

The zest that invigorated me more than anything.

But the love I want is the things most people want to spite

The love I want is the things people disapprove of.

But despite their disapproval, I will never want to be surreptitious.

Their words are obsolete and frivolous to me and will never affect me.

I will proudly declare the love I want,

and feel the way I want to.

This is a poem that I have written about my thoughts when I came out and being who I am, and stop listening to people's expectations and what they would think about me.  

Poem:

How am I doing?

It the question I been asking myself.

The reality is that I'm not ok.

I am trap by the voices of my family and their mentality.

Their expectation is my frustration.

I am done with the noises and voices that follow me wherever I go.

The voices that tell me, who I'm supposed to be and what I can and can't do.

The noises that tell me, that being me is a crime to society.

The same society that judges people that are different from them.

The same society that hates and discriminates against people who are being true to themself.

The same society that tells people that if you don't follow their expectation and rules you'll be an outcast.

Well, I am done with listening to society's expectations.

I am done being trapped in, what is expected of me.

I am canceling out their noises and voices that have been haunting me.

Only then I am ok.
