Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease-fire deal. While the deal may permit Israel to obtain

the remaining hostages, it enables Hamas to survive and potentially regroup. 

Author and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution Victor Davis Hanson suggests that despite the deal's favorability, the incoming Trump Administration may disagree it's the best choice. Later, he projects how the incoming Administration will change the direction of the Middle East and shift power dynamics.
