Many BC businesses have had to dramatically innovate to stay afloat during the COVID crisis. CHEK television is a case in point. Today the station is doing well, but nearly two years ago when the pandemic began there was real concern that an Island owned, independent operation would struggle to stay on the air. General Manager Rob Germain says they succeed by staying fully operational despite the provincial shut-down, and eventually this proved to be the right strategy.
Dr. Chris Kilford from Royal Roads discusses the possibility of all-out war in the Ukraine. Also Robin and John go down memory lane with CHEK TV’s Rob Germain as we learn how this locally owned company managed to survive and thrive during the pandemic.
The red hot Vancouver Island housing market has seen prices spike and inventory slump. Mike Kozakowski’s Citified Media tracks the real estate construction industry. He suggests if more land was made available by the province and regional governments, the demand for affordable housing could be dealt with.
