Many are satisfied with shallow and mediocre experiences in the things of God. They remain at the surface and never desire to sink their spiritual nets deeper. Sometimes you must leave the shallow waters behind and go out into the deep in order to receive the blessings God has for you. Just like Jesus called Simon Peter and the other disciples to cast their net into the deep for a greater catch, God is calling us to go deeper in the same areas where we have struggled, failed, or even given up hope, because he has greater blessings waiting for us.

The Wilderness, learning through what we are living in is the key to the victory that God has promised. In Isa 40:31 we see God’s Word record, ‘those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.’ Many do not understand that ‘waiting’ does not mean to stop and do nothing. But rather the phrase, ‘to wait on the Lord,’ means to wait for his help; to TRUST in him, to put HOPE or CONFIDENCE in him. It is in this that we gain victory in the wilderness. Join us as we conclude our series on 'The Wilderness' and learn that it is here that we obtain some of our greatest victories.

This year brings amazing signs in skies and Scriptures. Blood Moons, Solar Eclipses, Jewish festivals, a Sabbath year and a Jubilee year, all align in startling ways for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear. In Genesis 14:1, the scripture records, “God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for APPOINTED TIMES and for days and years…” We watch the news and see ISIS, the Middle East Chaos, Korea’s threats, Tsunami’s, EMP’s spoke of, Earthquakes, and the list keeps going. Join us as we strive to answer the question, ‘What in the World is Going On?’

As we have spoken of the 'Wilderness' times of our lives, we've come to understand that the wilderness is not a place of God's rejection, punishment, or abandonment; but rather a place of God's preparation. The wilderness is greatly used in preparing a man or woman of God for DESTINY; a place to separate US FROM THE WORLD and separate us TO GOD, this is part of the process known as 'sanctification'. Though the wilderness is a foreboding place, even to some today, we've begun to realize the wilderness is not to be a plave for God to CORRECT US; it is rather a place for God to PERFECT us. Isa 40:3 The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: prepare the way of the LORD. (You can actually say, 'prepare your life for the Lord'.)

The Wilderness, a place to find ourselves, but more importantly, we can find God. Last week we determined what the wilderness was not and looked at its purpose. This week we want to look further at that purpose...

In the day we live, we are faced with so many distractions, temptations and diversions from God's truth and God's way. Because of this, I have found many people asking, “Pastor, why do I not feel the way I did when I first gave my life to Jesus?” “Why do I not feel the presence of God like I once did, am I out of God’s will.” I have heard the question asked in many ways, but the real question is coming from deep inside, “Am I in Sin?” “Is God mad at me?” “Has God abandoned me?” Over the next few weeks we want to talk about this. I am not sure if we’ll answer every question, but we’ll try to look at the ‘what and why’ of a place that we’ve all been before, a place many are currently at, or the place that many of us will be again; this place is called, ‘The Wilderness.’

Man so desperately wants to be secure. Yet what I have discovered is that security is most times based on priorities. Man tries to achieve security through financial or material gain, yet God sets security by trust. Man tries to make his place under the sun. Yet God makes a place for man in the Son! Our priorities determine our security and our securities will determine our trust.
