Christians are engaged in real spiritual warfare against principalities and powers that deceive, accuse, and seek our destruction. We must avoid two ditches: denial of spiritual evil or obsession with it. Instead, we need to be well aware of the stratagems and weapons used by these forces, but at the same time know that Christ has already triumphed over them, and is seated far above them. Paul calls us to stand and withstand by putting on the full armour of God – truth, righteousness, peace, salvation, faith, and the Word – all of which are ultimately Christ himself.

This sermon explores marriage: its meaning,  significance, and the Biblical blueprint for the blessed marriage. Far from being a mere social arrangement, marriage is a God-ordained, lifelong covenant union, between one man and one woman, established for their intimate mutual companionship and the blessing of children, to bring about the fulfilment of God’s purposes in the world. It signifies the mystery of Christ’s love for His Church, imaging the marriage of all marriages. The truly blessed marriage is where a husband leads with Christlike, sacrificial love, and his wife responds like the church, with willing, joyful submission creating true, beautiful unity.

TThis sermon explores Paul’s teaching in Ephesians 5 on what it truly means to “redeem the time” and “be filled with the Spirit.” Rather than viewing redeeming the time as merely using our time wisely, it shows how we are called to use God-given opportunities to redeem what the evil days have stolen, bringing all under the lordship of Christ.
