The gospel is taken to the city of Philippi in this well known story where Paul and Silas are wrongly imprisoned. This Chapter of Acts contains the Gospel in action; Paul has a vision, Lydia and her household are baptised, Paul casts a demon from a slave girl, a great earthquake occurs, the salvation of a jailer happens and eventually Paul and Silas are released from prison with a full apology from the magistrates. Pastor Kenny reads from 2 Samuel Chapter 9 about Mephibosheth to whom King David shows mercy to honour his covenant with Jonathan (Mephibosheth's father). Sue Carter describes herself as being "called to be a warrior fighting the injustice of human trafficking; reflecting God's love and inspiring people to find hope and restoration in His love".  Sue visits Victory Church this morning to bring a powerful and moving testimony of her involvement in the struggle to end the appalling exploitation of young women in our generation.  7th August 2016
