8 promises made by God to help you in times of trouble

2 Peter 1:4

4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Promise 1: He will give you peace

John 16:33

33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Promise 2:  He will provide a refuge.  A place of rest.

Psalm 9:9

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Promise 3:  He will protect you.

Psalm 91:4

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Promise 4: He will be with you.  Comfort and assurance.

Promise 5: He will go before you. Lead.

Deuteronomy 31:8

8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Promise 6: He will strengthen you.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Promise 7: He will provide for you.  There will be no lack.

Psalm 34:10

Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.

Promise 8: He will Restore you.

Psalm 71:19-21

19 You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. 21 You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again.

You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God
