What happens when a runaway slave returns to his master, but no longer as a slave. He returns as a brother. In the letter to Philemon, Paul demonstrates Christian hospitality and encourages the church to do the same.

In Romans, Paul says that we must “Always be eager to practice hospitality”. So, what does it mean for the Church to be hospitable? It means we create a space that allows people to encounter Jesus, not just at church but in our everyday spaces.

The Holy Spirit gives us gifts to use for the spiritual health of the Body of Christ.

These gifts in Paul’s writing to Timothy were not to neglect them which means to overlook or disregard them. And later writes that we should stir up the gifts we have which means change it from a burning ember to a flame.

The Lord’s final directive to the disciples, to “tarry...until you be endued with power,” is still relevant today. This divine strategy will enable you to tap into the gift of the Holy Spirit that you need in order to walk in power in this season.
