Is life a sprint?  Or a marathon? 

Is it fast and generally painless?  Or is it a grueling, difficult marathon?

We all know the answer to that…the christian life is a marathon, not a sprint!  

Join us for today’s sermon to be encouraged so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  The problems of this life are temporary.  Set our hearts on the finish line and what’s forever when the race is over…eternity in heaven!

A victory? A souvenir? A special vacation?  Maybe a spouse, child, friend, or parent?

Wouldn’t it be nice to be king or queen for a day?

Just think of what you could do!  You could give orders instead of taking them.  You could wear a crown of jewels and be wealthy beyond compare! 

If you were king or queen for the day you would certainly have a lot of control.  In today’s devotion we’ll look at  two kings ruling over very different kingdoms.

Haș peer pressure ever gotten the best of you? 

Maybe it’s not just a problem for teenagers as any adult would be able to tell you! 

Having the nicest house, participating in gossip, not speaking up when someone is doing something they shouldn’t…there are so many ways we can fall into peer pressure.  

Peter knows this all too well…let’s look at Luke 22:60-62 to hear a story about peer pressure that he went through and how we can learn from it!

Science has a lot of different theories on a variety of topics about our world and universe.  

How is it that everything else is a possibility, EXCEPT God’s word being the truth?  What is foolishness?  What is wisdom?  Am I a fool?  Am I wise?  How do I know?  

God’s word has a lot to say about that in today’s verses from 1 Corinthians chapter 1 that will certainly help us with these questions!  God bless your worship.

During the last hours of Jesus’ life he was betrayed by Judas, surrounded by enemies, abandoned by his disciples, thrown under the bus by Pontius Pilate, flogged by the soldiers, and then crucified…and yet the Lord sustained Jesus Christ through it all. 

Think about that today as we look at Psalms 3:1-6.

In this life we will have many happy, good and peaceful times.  But we also have difficult times, sad times, exhausting times...even days we feel so consumed and wonder if we'll ever make it through.

Through the season of lent we’re going to be following Jesus to the cross, as well as to His empty tomb on Easter morning!

Have a heartfelt Ash Wednesday! 

At first it may seem pretty unusual having both Ash Wednesday and Valentines Day fall on the same day!  Ash Wednesday is about repentance and solemn mourning over your sin and Valentines Day is about joy, love and togetherness.  

It might not seem like the best combination but it’s actually the PERFECT combination and today’s devotion we’ll tell you why!
