Pastor Ben reminded us of the importance of living by faith as believers in Jesus Christ, always trusting in God's Word and promises. He likened the challenge of standing firm in faith and resisting fear to a trial in a courtroom, emphasizing that the finished work of Jesus on the cross is our powerful defense against the enemy's lies. By standing firm in the righteousness we have through Christ’s blood, we strip the enemy of his power and avoid being robbed of God’s promises and blessings.

This Sunday, Vida Church welcomed guest speakers Ashley and Carlie Terradez, who shared powerful testimonies of miraculous healings in their own lives. Their daughter, Hannah, who had been diagnosed with an incurable disease and given just one week to live, is now completely healed and thriving. Carlie herself, once tormented by grand-mal seizures, has also been fully restored. Their stories are living proof that God’s healing power is real and available today! Ashley’s message addressed the fundamental question of whether God wants to heal us, emphasizing that healing is an integral part of the gospel and a reflection of God's unchanging nature. He stressed that God is always able and willing to heal, and encouraged the congregation to pray with faith knowing that healing belongs to God's children.

This Sunday, Pastor Ben delivered a powerful message about the importance of unity and love within the body of Christ, emphasizing the need to maintain connection and love with others even in the midst of disagreements. He stressed that while disagreements are natural, they should not lead to division, and that it's crucial to respond with kindness, patience, and understanding. Pastor Ben also highlighted the significance of speaking up on important issues from a place rooted in God's Word and love, and the value of finding agreement and unity in faith.

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of hosting Troy Brewer and his wife, Leanna, from Troy Brewer Ministries, who have rescued over 11,000 children from sex trafficking and serve vulnerable populations in Mexico, India, Colombia, and Uganda. Troy inspired us with testimonies of miracles and challenged us to adopt a kingdom mindset—brave and fearless. He emphasized that true courage means allowing the presence of the Lord to shift atmospheres and prioritizing God's call over personal comfort. He reminded us that safety isn’t our highest aim; instead, we are called to act boldly in bringing God’s kingdom to earth, fully surrendered to the King, and focused on seeing people saved and set free.

God's mandate from the beginning has been for us to steward the earth (Gen. 1:28), managing our resources, time, money, and bodies wisely while focusing on His Kingdom. Pastor Ben encouraged us to develop a purposeful vision for 2025, moving beyond past regrets and victories, as emphasized in Phil 3:13-14. He shared Jabez's prayer for expansion (1 Chronicles 4:10) and urged us to actively occupy and invest in God's kingdom until Jesus's return, reminding us that our past is redeemed through Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19). Fear and anxiety stem from future worries devoid of God’s power (Matthew 6:34), while Psalm 37:5 calls us to commit our actions to Him. As we reflect on what we're grateful for and what we dream of achieving with God in 2025, let's trust in His promise of new beginnings, as stated in Isaiah 43:18-19.
