He is originally from Sidney, Australia and fun fact: he was coached by John Newcombe and his son Clint as a junior tennis player!

Tune in for my conversation with Ben Nichols from Padel 22, a global communications consultancy dedicated to Padel!

Ben is a sports and communications professional with over 20 years of experience in the racquets industry. Ben is from the UK where he grew up playing tennis. He started his career at the ATP in Ponte Vedra Beach to later become the Chief Press Officer of the ATP and WTA Dubai Tennis Championships!

He is also the former Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Commonwealth Games Federation and he was the head of Media Relations for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) during the Russian doping scandal.

At Padel 22 he works with the likes of Padel Haus (NYC’s first and only Padel Club), and professional Padel players including the British No.1, LeDap.

It was so interesting talking with Ben. His time working for WADA during the Russian doping scandal in the olympics is just fascinating so of course we talked about that and many other things like players not participating in press conferences nowadays, journalism in the tennis world and of course we talked about padel!!!

This week I got to talk with Mark Wylam. He is the owner and founder of Sports Pros Connect. A worldwide tennis coaching job platform that connects tennis coaches with academies, resorts, clubs and federations. SportsProsConnect has placed over 350 tennis professionals with jobs all over the world. They also have tennis, paddlel, and fitness coaches registered from more than 100 countries around the globe! Mark has a degree in business management, is certified by the PTR, and coaches at the Letterkenny Tennis Club Academy in Ireland. 

We talked about pretty much everything regarding international positions! From keys to Landing that international job, to the organizational structure of clubs, compensation, and I even asked him which are the most profitable countries to coach in. Mark has a great story and his platform for tennis coaches and clubs has gotten bigger and bigger in the last few years!
