  • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 122 - Doctor Mordrid
Once upon a time Charles Band (Empire Pictures, Full Moon Entertainment) had the rights to make a film adaptation of Marvel Comics "Doctor Strange" but before they could get the film into production the rights agreement had expired leaving Band and his father Albert [Band] with a problem. What to do? Do a short re-write and change some of the names and get the movie made. The result is... Doctor Mordrid starring (watch out Benedict Cumberbatch)the great Jeffery Combs. Watch it for FREE on Tubi and listen to the guys discuss this straight-to-video "classic".

  • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 121 - Brain Damage
This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast, Erik and Joe check out another Frank Henenlotter film about a guy who lives with a small creature. This time it's the 1988 comedy horror film Brain Damage! The movie stars Rick Hearst as Brian, a young man who finds himself suddenly addicted to the highly hallucinogenic blue liquid that is injected directly into his brain by an ancient crooning carnivorous eel-like leech named Aylmer.
    Yeah... another one of those....
So does Brain Damage still bring that euphoric feeling, or is it DOA?
Check out the movie for FREE on TubiTV.com and then tune in for the discussion on the Video Junkyard Podcast!

  • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 118 - Shock Waves
This week we take a look at the 70s cult classic Shock Waves starring Peter Cushing and John Carradine. This film belongs to the unique sub-genre of "Nazi Zombie" movies which there are more than a handful of these days. Does this aquatic classic rise out of the depths of obscurity or should you just leave it shipwrecked?

  • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 119 - Basket Case
This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we take a look at the 1982 cult horror classic "Basket Case" directed by Frank Henenlotter. Kevin Van Hentenryck stars as Duane Bradley, a plucky go-getter who arrives in New York City with his brother to make it big... WHOOPS wrong movie. Mysterious wicker baskets, inhuman screaming, deformed conjoined twin hand puppets, and some of the worst stop-motion animation since you got your hands on that a camcorder in 6th grade. Is Basket Case the cult classic everyone claims? Or does this basket just contain trash? Check out the film for FREE at TubiTV.com, then tune in to the Video Junkyard Podcast to join the discussion!

  • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 117 - The Lair of the White Worm
On the latest episode of the Video Junkyard Podcast, Erik, Ryan, and Joe check out Ken Russell's "Lair of the White Worm" starring Hugh Grant, Peter Capaldi, and Amanda Donohoe. Loosely based on the nearly unreadable book by Bram Stoker (yes, the same Bram Stoker), does this tale of serpentine vampires still have bite, or should it stay in the basket? • Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 116 - Ms .45
This week we talk about the (in)famous expolitation film "Ms .45" written and directed by cult film hero Abel Ferrara. Films such as this one influenced the prevelent, albiet controversial, "rape revenge" sub-genre. This one surely isn't easy to watch but is it worth the time.

  • VJP EP115 StirofEchoes
This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we take a look back at the 1999 supernatural thriller "Stir of Echoes" starring Kevin Bacon. Based the on the novel by Richard Matheson, this creepy ghost story was a bit overshadowed by the OTHER "kid sees dead people" film of 1999... but does this underdog still send chills down the spine, or is all huff and no haunt?
